We + know + 《that + 「the lower + the center of gravity」 and 「the closer + it is to the base of support」, 「the more stable + an object」》.

1) We (주어) + know (동사) + 《that ~ 》 (목적어 = 명사절)

 

2) the lower + the center of gravity

    → the center of gravity + is + low    (= 무게 중심이 낮다)

    = low를 강조하기 위해 → 'the + 비교급'을 만들어 → 문장 맨 앞으로 가져감

    = the center of gravity + is + the lower

    = the lower +the center of gravity + is    (→ is 생략)  (무게 중심이 낮으면 낮을수록)

 

3) → the closer + it is to the base of support

    = it is + close + to the base of support   

       (= 그것 (it = the center of gravity)은 지지 기반에 가깝다)

    = close를 강조하기 위해 → 'the + 비교급'을 만들어 → 문장 맨 앞으로 가져감

    = the closer + it is + to the base of support   

      (= 그것이 지지 기반에 가까우면 가까울수록)

 

4) → the more stable + an object

    = an object + is + stable    (= 물체는 안정적이다)   

    =  stable를 강조하기 위해 → 'the + 비교급'을 만들어 → 문장 맨 앞으로 가져감

    = the more stable + an object + is    (→ is 생략)  (= 물체는 더 안정적으로 된다)

무게 중심이 낮으면 낮을수록 그리고, 그것이 지지 기반에 가까우면 가까울수록, 물체는 더 안정적으로 된다는 것을 우리는 안다.
